To run PBAT, the file “pbatdata.txt” has to
be copied to the directory which contains the pedigree files and the phenotype
files for analysis. The file “pbatdata.txt” is
necessary to accelerate the computation of the marker distribution when
extended pedigrees are analyzed. The current version of the “pbatdata.txt”-file support accelerated computation of
the marker distribution for pedigrees in which the largest nuclear families
does not have more than 15 offspring. If the “pbatdata.txt”-file
is missing, PBAT will create this file. The user then has to specify the size
of the largest nuclear family within an extended pedigree (Figure
1). For nuclear family-sizes greater than 10, the creation of the “pbatdata.txt”-file can take several days, even on fast
computers.
