Statistical
genetics is an exciting and rapidly expanding area for departmental research.
This new research area reflects in part the rapid expansion of the use of genetic
data in medical and public health studies. Ongoing collaborations between department
members and colleagues in the Harvard medical community encompass genetic studies
of asthma, COPD, bipolar disorder, nicotine addiction, behavioral inhibition,
Alzheimer's disorder, and birth defects, among others.
